Andritz, corporate member of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ is a global supplier of electromechanical systems and services for hydropower plants and one of the leaders in the world market for hydro power generation.

I joined Andritz in 2013 and became a member of the Andritz Executive board in early 2023. Previously, I held several positions within ANDRITZ, primarily in Service Business Units located in North America, following various management positions in the power generation industry at Alstom.

Since 2023, I am a Member of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Board and a Member of the Stakeholder Engagement Committee.

Against the background of my work in developing and emerging countries, it is important for me to emphasize that the focus on sustainability in the expansion of hydropower is particularly important in these regions. Andritz has been a Sustainability Partner of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ from the very beginning and we have always made our contribution to the multi-stakeholder dialogue, when the Sustainability Tools were developed. Andritz is fully committed to the San José Declaration on Sustainable Â鶹ÊÓƵ, including a stop to new hydropower projects in UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and we support the worldwide establishment of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ Sustainability Standard.

I am again applying to be a member of the Â鶹ÊÓƵ board in the period 2025-2027 by expressing full commitment to the values of the association. I will continue to support any initiative that strengthens exchange and cooperation with other renewables in the sense of a common path towards the Paris Climate Goals and the UN Sustainable Development Goals. In this context, the establishment of the Global Renewable Alliance (GRA) with Â鶹ÊÓƵ as a founding member was an important step towards gaining more gravity. Also, I am convinced that the upcoming International Forum on Pumped Storage Â鶹ÊÓƵ (IFPSH) flanked by the Global Alliance for Pumped Storage Â鶹ÊÓƵ (GAPS) will raise more policy awareness of the role and capabilities of our technology. I also appreciate the campaign's next focus on the impact of climate change on hydropower and its role in mitigation.

One of my particular concerns is to maintain and secure the specialist know-how for the future. We need education initiatives and modern career opportunities to attract young people to our industry. This is not just a European problem, addressed in the Paris Pledge on Pumped Storage Â鶹ÊÓƵ, but a global issue. Without young engineers, a sustainable and prosperous future of our industry would not be secured.

I'm motivated and ready. I hope to be honored with your vote again.

Finally, I would like to congratulate Â鶹ÊÓƵ on its upcoming 30th birthday and wish another thirty successful years.
